I think about this penchant for productivity systems a lot. I often notice that I’m very fond of them, not so much for the results but because how it feels to set them up and polish them. It’s very satisfying.
I’ve been wondering, though, if this is because secular life has left us devoid of ritual that we need as humans. And are we unconsciously trying to fill that void with all this to-do system and morning routine habits?
